“Food 2 Families”
According to the USDA, Oklahoma ranks fourth in the nation in the number of people who are left hungry. Reasor's has partnered with Cox Radio and KJRH Channel 2 to bring attention and relief to families affected by hunger during the holidays.
Beginning December 4, all Reasor's stores will have a donation drop-off box for canned goods and non-perishable items. Cash donations are also accepted and will be used toward the purchase of canned goods and other non-perishables. All items will be donated to the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma. Donations will be collected through December 20.
Last year, Reasor's collected 13,500 pounds of food. We challenge the Tulsa community to help us collect even more during this great time of need. Every day hungry Oklahomans are being fed as a result of YOUR efforts to fight hunger, feed hope.
The Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma is a private, nonprofit organization located in Tulsa hat distributes donated food and other grocery items to 450 Partner Programs in 24 counties of Eastern Oklahoma. These programs include food pantries, soup kitchens, emergency shelters, after school programs and senior citizen centers. In turn, those programs collectively feed 50,000 people each week, the equivalent of 621,000 meals per month.
