Earth Day 2014

PAPER OR PLASTIC?

In honor or Earth Day, Reasor's is giving away free reusable shopping bags to the first 200 shoppers in our stores on April 22, 2014. The U.S. uses 100 billion plastic bags annually, which is the energy equivalent of 12 million barrels of oil. Each reusable bag you use has the potential to eliminate hundreds, if not thousands, of plastic bags over its lifetime. Our reusable bags are lightweight, durable and recyclable. They even hold about twice as many groceries as a plastic bag. Remember to pick up your reusable bag on your next trip to Reasor's. Join us in reducing the use of paper and plastic--one bag at a time.

Plus, when you use reusable bags to bag your groceries at Reasor's, you save 6 cents off your total purchase per reusable bag used. Now you can pass those savings on to those in need. In 2011, Reasor's began our Recycle Hope campaign to benefit the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma's Food for Kids program. Customers who bring in reusable bags for their groceries can inform their cashier that they would like to donate your savings to the Food for Kids program to benefit children in their local community.

At Reasor's, all of our paper bags are 100% recyclable and contain a minimum of 40% post consumer recycled content. Plus, there is no need to double bag your groceries in paper. These paper bags will hold up to 50 pounds of product. If you prefer plastic, our plastic bags are 100% recyclable. Reasor's offers a recycle bin for your plastic sacks conveniently located inside every Reasor's location. Or Reasor's plastic bags can easily be recycled at home by using as small trash can liners or bring them back to the store and drop them off in the Recycle bins at the front of our stores.
