Reasor's Jenks Opening a Success

The new Reasor's on South Elm at the Creek Turnpike officially opened for business Wednesday, June 24. The special ribbon cutting ceremony was attended by members of the Jenks Chamber of Commerce as well as Reasor's employees. Jeff Reasor, President and CEO, welcomed customers and made things official when he snipped the ribbon. "That's how we do it," Reasor said as he wielded the giant golden scissors.

Honorary customer Linda George, Jenks resident, arrived in a limousine and was the first to shop the new location. Mayor Vic Vreeland made a formal proclamation declaring June 24 "Linda George Day" in Jenks. George has lived in Jenks all her life and was a teacher at Jenks Public Schools for over 60 years. Her father opened the first grocery store in Jenks in 1915.

"Oohs" and "ahhs" were heard throughout the store as customers marveled at the food service area. Shoppers snacked on tasty samples like fresh pluots and blueberries in the produce department, and delectable verrine (the latest dessert craze in France) in the bakery. High in the sky, an airplane circled the area trailing the message "Reasor's New Jenks Store Now Open."

Official grand opening events are scheduled for July 15-28. Events include live music from Travis Kidd band and Stephen Speaks, free activities for kids and $1000 cash giveaway every day.

The new store encompasses 80,000 square feet full of the finest quality and best value items customers expect to find at a Reasor's store, ranging from meat to produce to bakery to floral departments—and everything in between. Parking has also improved with a new lot 3 times the size of the old location. The new store is the third expansion and location for Reasor's in Jenks.

Reasor's was founded over 46 years ago in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. It was family owned until 2007, when Reasor's became an employee owned company. Today, Reasor's has 15 locations and employs over 3,000 people in Northeastern Oklahoma.
