Reasor's is proud to be a sponsor of the 2012 Stamp Out Hunger food drive to benefit the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma.
The Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive helps the Food Bank have enough supplies to make it through the summer, when donations traditionally drop off. But the need increases because students are out of school and don't have free breakfast and lunch available to them.
Now through May 14th you can drop off non-perishable food donations at the drop-off bin at any Reasor's store. Reasor's will also be selling pre-made sacks of food filled with most needed items that customers can purchase for $15.
The National Letter Carriers will be distributing plastic sacks all over northeastern Oklahoma. The sacks will arrive in consumers' mailboxes around May 7th with a message asking everyone to fill the sack with non-perishable donations and place by the mailbox on Saturday, May 12th by 7 am. Letter carriers will then pick up the sack during their regular route. If you forget to place the sack by the mailbox, you can still bring to any Reasor's store by May 14th.
No time to shop or clear out your cabinets? No problem! You can still help by donating to the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma's virtual food drive online. Just click on the “DONATE NOW” button at www.cfbeo.org. Every $1 donated allows the Food Bank to distribute 7 meals to the hungry of Eastern Oklahoma.
About the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma
The Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma was founded in 1981 as the Tulsa Community Food Bank. We are the largest private hunger-relief organization in Eastern Oklahoma. Their mission is to feed the hungry of Eastern Oklahoma and engage our communities in ending hunger. They serve 450 Partner Programs in 24 counties of Eastern Oklahoma. These programs include emergency food pantries, soup kitchens, homeless shelters, after-school programs and senior citizen centers. Nearly half of the food that is distributed to the hungry by these agencies comes from the Food Bank and together we feed 60,000 people per week. Last year they distributed 16.9 million pounds of food.
