Mazzei Cabernet Sauvignon, Toscana IGT, 2011

Mazzei 1435. Dedicated to Philip Mazzei (1730-1816), passionate grape grower and political thinker who advocated all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable right, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. In fact, in his book A Nation of Immigrants, John F. Kennedy wrote, The great doctrine All men are created equal, incorporated into the Declaration of Independence by Thomas Jefferson, was paraphrased from the writings of Philip Mazzei, an Italian born patriot and pamphleteer, who was a close friend of Jefferson. This wine, made with a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon grapes selected from all the Mazzei estate, is quintessentially Tuscan. It embodies the new World spirit of Tuscan winemaking, best represents the revolutionary character of Philip Mazzei, and expresses our desire to pursue happiness. www.mazzei.it. Red wine.
